Logitech G432 7.1 Surround Sound Wired Gaming Headset - USB

Logitech G432 gaming headset review

Surround sound, an exemplary microphone for a class, a complete sound card, and an ergonomic design - about this in the Logitech G432 gaming headset review.

When budget headphones do not attract you, and you don’t want to spend all your salary on a headset alone, you involuntarily begin to pay attention to middle-class products. And you notice that somewhere the sound does not reach an acceptable level, the microphones are phoning, and some headsets have an uncomfortable design. What to do? Listen to the advice of gamers and follow the latest news from major brands. Today we will just get acquainted with the fresh model Logitech G432 headset

When unpacking, the box interests me for less than a minute - I opened it, took it out, threw it far away in case of warranty repair. And all because I know about my purchases stilling an order. But if you suddenly see a box from Logitech G432 on a store shelf, it is unlikely to attract you - the grey backgrey with blue splashes is boring.

The design is not very good, but there are many interesting things inside

Having freed the headset from the cardboard captivity, I at the same time pulled out a splitter (microphone / headphones) and an external sound card with a USB connection.

There was no cover, extension cord, or even stickers included

Detailed inspection

The design of the headset can be described as something futuristic yet very simple. It was not equipped with whistle-bargains, which positively affected colour the price - this is only beneficial for middle-class buyers. The main color is black, but there are blue stripes on the ear pads. The headset looks much better than on the box, although it doesn't pretend to be spectacular either.

Simple but tasteful

The headband is adjustable with a metal plate at its base. It is covered with plastic on the top, and on the inside there is a soft pad filled with foam.

Metal at the base inspires confidence.

The ear cushions are made of artificial leather and are also filled with foam. They fit tightly to the ears, although they still pass many sounds. Therefore, there is no need to talk about complete sound insulation. On the other hand, they buy such a headset for tube home gaming and not for e-sports arenas with tens of thousands of spectators. So I won't complain.

The earpads sit comfortably on the ears, and it’s a pity there is..o mesh

The Logitech G432's 50mm diffusers are large, loud, and deliver clear, immersive sound. The manufacturer has integrated DTS Headphone: X 2.0 surround sound technology. When used in conjunction with Logitech G HUB Software, it provides software-grade 7.1 surround sound.

The cups can be rotated 90 degrees. They are quite voluminous, but they do not cause discomfort. Each of them has the manufacturer's logo.

The headset "sat on the twine" - the design is reliable, you can not be afraid of breakages

There is a volume control wheel on the left cup. It is also equipped with a non-removable unidirectional microphone that can be raised and lowered. When picked up, the microphone turns off and vice versa.

Adjusting the volume on the earcup is more convenient than constantly looking for the remote on the wire

The cable is not removable, two meters long, comes out of the same left cup. It was not protected by a fabric braid, but there is a rubber reinforcement at the junction with the cup. The kit included a splitter. Thanks to this, the headset can be used not only on a PC but also with mobile devices and consoles. And the sound card will allow you to connect the headset via USB to the Nintendo Switch dock. The only problem is that two meters may not be enough for everyone.

Experience of use of G432 Headset

First, about convenience. The headset weighs 280 grams, which is quite a bit, so it is practically not felt on the head. Nothing crushes. Ears don't sweat. Although the ear pads are covered with leatherette, they will not be so comfortable in the hot season. And in late autumn it is normal.

Now about the sound. When connected via a regular 3.5 mm jack, the sound is standard, unremarkable. But thanks to usingwhich a complete sound card, the situation changes completely - volume, clarity, crystal clarity appear. Of course, an expensive card could not be included in the kit, but a budget card is also enough to feel the difference. Moreover, thanks to the drivers and DTS Headphone: X 2.0 technology, the gaming experience becomes completely different. All enemies are as if in the palm of your hand, youusing which instantly determine the direction of their movement. For battle royale and tactical shooters, you can't think of a better one. As for listening to music, I did not experience much enthusiasm - it sounds normal, there is nothing to complain about, but there are no goosebumps either.

The non-removable microphone, although it rises upward, is not very convenient for transportation due to its size.

The microphone is the pride of this headset. Many developers promise excellent voice transmission, free of noise and interference. As a result, there is almost always background hiss, and the voice changes significantly. And as an excuse, these like "this is not a studio microphone" sound. And Logitech took and made a microphone that provides good communication without unnecessary interference. However, you should not twist its sensitivity to the maximum - it is located close enough to the face so that even a quiet voice can be heard normally on the other end of the wire.

There is a universal software Logitech G HUB for setting up the headset. In it, you can store the profiles of all your devices from this manufacturer. You can adjust the equaliser, surround, microphone and activate the surround sound mode.

Pros and cons

Now about the pros and cons of the Logitech G432. I'll start with the pros:

  • Comfort - the headset sits comfortably, does not squeeze or cause fatigue after several hours of use.
  • Sound - minimal movements of opponents are heard in games, surround sound contributes to complete immersion in what is happening.
  • Microphone - yes, not a studio microphone, but decent and great for simple and in-game communication.

  • Leatherette ear cushions - your ears will be hot in summer.
  • No extension cable - if the plug is far away, you will have to change the arrangement on the desktop.

With a price tag of Rs 4,300, the Logitech G432 gaming headset is very attractive for those looking for mid-range peripherals. It offers surround sound, a good microphone, and a comfortable build - not bad at this price point. True, the savings on equipment and materials are visible, but you can't do without it.
